Okra or lady's finger curry

Serves 2-3


1/2 kg okra

4 tomatoes 

1 onion

1 tbsp garlic paste

1 tsp ginger paste

1 tbsp chili powder

1 tsp coriander powder

salt to taste

1 tsp vinegar

oil for deep frying

1 tbsp oil


cut each okra into four pieces. heat the oil for deep frying and deep fry all the okra and place them on some paper towels. you have to deep fry for the stickiness to go or else the curry will get mushy). Now heat the 1 tbsp of oil in a wok and fry the onion till golden brown, add the ginger garlic paste and fry for 2 minutes. Now add the chopped tomatoes, salt, coriander powder and vinegar and cook for 8 minutes on medium heat. Add the fried okra and chili powder and mix carefully and cook for another 8 minutes and take off from heat. Serve with rice or chapathi.
