Tomato Fish Curry

Preparation time: 15 minutes

cooking time: 20 minutes

serves 4

Ingredients:

1/2 kg cod fillets or salmon fillets

4 tomatoes

1 large onion

1/4 tsp tamarind paste

11/2 tsp chilli powder

1/2 tsp garam masala

1 tsp cumin powder

3/4 tbsp coriander powder

salt and pepper to taste

1 tsp ginger paste

1 tsp garlic paste

Pinch of turmeric

2 tbsp oil

Method:

Cut the fish into equal pieces. Take a mixing bowl and place the fish in it, add 3/4 tbsp chilli powder, garam masala and salt to it and rub them well into the fish.

Heat a pan and add 1tbsp oil to it and then place the fish pieces on it and pan fry them on both sides 3 minutes each side to seal the fish, take them off the pan. In the same pan add the rest of the oil and add the chopped onion to it. Fry the onion till they are slightly brown and then add the ginger garlic paste to it. fry for further  2 minutes and add the chopped tomatoes. Let it cook on medium heat for 6 minutes and then add the rest of the ingredients in to the curry, mix it well , Now add the fish pieces to it and let it simmer for 5-8 minutes on medium heat carefully turning them once in between. Now take the curry of heat and serve it hot with rice.
